The best way to reduce the likelihood of contracting Pertussis (commonly known as Whooping Cough), and the Flu is to get vaccinated.

Picture
With 1,519 confirmed cases of Pertussis in 2012 Colorado experienced the highest rates since1948.  We are encouraging those that work with young children or are around young children and/or infants to be sure to be current on their Tdap and make sure their children are current on their DTaP.

Influenza is also elevated in the state of Colorado.
(Read More about the influx in Colorado.) Please take precautions to avoid contracting and/or spreading the flu: get vaccinated, wash hands often, avoid other people if you feel ill.  For more helpful tips on how to prevent the spread of influenza, click here.  For information about choosing whether or not to get vaccinated, click here.
